HAPPY 20th, LISA SALAMONE

While we were celebrating
Disney Television Animation's
30th anniversary
we were also celebrating
the 20th anniversary of our
Sooper Powered
Senior Vice President
Head of Production
Lisa Salamone.

And to show how much we love her
all the executive producers
got together and drew
a picture of her.

Craig McCracken
Alex Hirsch
Dan Povenmire
Daron Nefcy
Paul Rudish
Noah Z Jones
and a metric ton more of
dangerously talented artists
participated.

I did, too:

Here's a closer view:

Congrats on your 20th, Lisa!
You rule the universe!

SILVER DRAWING ACADEMY DE OSHIETA

If you heard rumours of
poorly spoken
Japanese going on in the
Southern California area...

That was totally me.

See,
I got invited to
talk to a bunch of
Japanese students at the
SILVER DRAWING ACADEMY

You know
sooper famous
character designer
even if you think you don't.

He designed
Kim Possible:

Clerks: The Animated Series

And Danny Phantom:

And now he's opened up
his own drawing school
in Los Angeles!

It's a great space
with lots of great artwork:

Stephen had over 150 animation students
from Japan come
for a class.

He took the majority of them to discuss character design
while I talked to the rest about
career paths, writing, direction
and that kind of stuff.

While I can speak some Japanese,
I'm not fluent enough to lecture,
so I had the help of a wonderful interpreter.

Hopefully she made me sound smart!

MR. WARBURTON BLATHERS ON THE ANIMATION PIMPCAST

Remember when I told you I had the honor of
being interviewed at the
2014 Ottawa Animation Festival
in front of lots of nice people?

Well, the interview is now online
so feel free to close your eyes
and pretend you're right there in the room with
me and the Animation Pimp himself,
Chris Robinson!

Animation writer and programmer Chris Robinson
sits down with a variety of animation types to fondle their minds
through informal chats about animation, life, and whatever
else they feel like talking about.

Treat your ear drums to the nasally
timbre of my voice over

Super Secret Crisis War:
Codename Kids Next Door #1

So rumor has it that
this is coming out soon:

It's part of
IDW's
SUPER SECRET CRISIS WAR
that stars your favorite
Cartoon Network
shows in a bunch of one-shot comics
that tie together in one humongous story arc!

AND
IT
COULD
MAYBE
POSSIBLY
PERHAPS
BE
AMAZING!

Or not.

I can't confirm either way because
I don't know much about the project.

It's the first comic the KND
crew had nothing to do with.

Well,
not exactly
nothing.

A long time ago
IDW sent me a sooper brief story synopsis
and asked me to do a cover.

So I did:

But apparently they didn't use it
(see pic at the top)

Maybe the story changed.
Maybe they lost it.
Maybe HIPPIE HOP
isn't in it anymore.
Who knows.

If you wanna check out the first
couple pages,
there's a preview on
Comicvine
over

Hmmmmm...

OUT, DAMNED SKETCHBOOK

Out, damned sketchbook!
Out, I say!—One, two.

Why, then, ’tis time to do ’t. Hell is murky!—
Owl, my lord, owl!

A dinosaur, and afeard?

What need we fear an octopus,
when none can call our power to account?

Yet who would have thought the old book
to have had so much Mario Kart drivers licenses in it.

And sketches for mother's day card ideas:

Here's how it ended up looking:

Cry havoc,
for LA Galaxy vs Manchester United
is such a thing that happened:

I was originally gonna do my
drawings on tags
but I wanted
more white for the
background color
instead:

Mine homage to
Shalt be interesting to see
what happens as the cuttings brown:
